Joseph Markowitz
has concentrated his practice in complex commercial litigation, having substantial
experience handling matters in the areas of intellectual property (including
representing a party in a patent case before the United States Supreme Court),
products liability, commercial law, employment discrimination, entertainment
law and bankruptcy-related litigation.
Joe was born in New York City in 1954. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Columbia University in 1976, and a Juris Doctor, with honors, from
the University of Chicago Law School in 1979. He was an associate editor
of the University of Chicago Law Review, and a member of the Order of the
Coif. Joe was a law clerk for the Honorable Bernard M. Decker of the United
States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Joe is a member
of the bars of the states of New York and California, and a number of federal
courts.
